    Project Information

    Project Name: Compact Hydraulic Cylinder for Electrical Equipment

    Applied Equipment: Clamping Machines

    Order Code: CX 32x16x10-14MPa

    Operating Pressure: 14MPa

    Cylinder Type: Double-Acting Hydraulic Cylinder


    Project Background & Requirements Overview

    This was a new compact cylinder development project for electrical clamping equipment.

    The customer required a very small hydraulic cylinder with a short stroke and stable pulling performance in limited installation space.

    Initial Customer Request

    • Cylinder volume target: very compact (reference size around 50 mm³ class)
    • Stroke length: 10mm
    • Pulling-focused application
    • Back-mounted hydraulic inlets
    • Desired pressure from customer side: 200 bar (200 kg/cm²)
    • Need for either single-acting or double-acting structure

    Engineering Goal

    Our objective was to deliver a design that fully matched the customer’s installation and performance needs, while also optimizing key technical parameters from a professional hydraulic engineering perspective for better reliability and manufacturability.


    II. Customer’s Special Requirements (Customization)

    Based on communication with the customer, the main customization points were:

    1. Extremely compact cylinder envelope
    2. Short stroke (10mm) with stable output
    3. Back-mounted ports for tight machine layout
    4. Pressure optimization recommendation
      • Customer initially requested 200 bar
      • We recommended 140 bar (14MPa) to improve overall balance of compactness, sealing reliability, and service life
    5. Double-acting design to ensure controlled motion in both directions

    III. Solution & Design Description

    According to the project requirements, we provided a customized standard-based compact solution:

    • Type: Double-acting hydraulic cylinder
    • Bore: 32mm
    • Rod: 16mm
    • Stroke: 10mm
    • Thread: M16
    • Oil Port Layout: Back-mounted
    • Working Pressure: 14MPa

    Key Design Highlights

    • Compact structure: suitable for limited mounting space in electrical clamping systems
    • Back port configuration: simplifies pipeline routing in dense equipment layouts
    • Optimized pressure level (14MPa): better sealing and durability in a micro-compact cylinder format
    • Standardized architecture: helps reduce cost and improve lead time for batch production

    IV. Project Result & Application Effect

    After prototype production and validation, the cylinder achieved the expected performance in clamping machine operation:

    • Stable bidirectional actuation
    • Reliable pulling motion under target pressure
    • Smooth integration into compact equipment structure
    • Good manufacturability for production scaling

    V. Customer Feedback

    • Feedback Summary: Prototype/sample approval completed successfully, followed by batch purchase.
    • The customer confirmed that the compact size and revised technical parameters matched the equipment requirements well.
